Scraping is Done!

This post seems more like un-crafting, but it was a lot of work, my arms are sore, and I'm glad it's done.  Between Monday night and this morning we went from this:

to this:

I had my lovely 5-year-old capture this action shot of me.
Isn't it great how odd angles can make your limbs look unnatural?  I'm just really glad I bought that great mountain bike a couple of years ago so that I'd have some padded gloves to wear during this whole ordeal.  Otherwise my hands would have been much more bruised.  I was also glad, for the first time, that our ceilings aren't any taller.

  1. Looks great. I can imagine how sore your arms are! I also enjoy doing work around the house. My husband hates painting so I am the one who always gets that job.

  2. Oh how I wish I could do this to our "cottage cheese" ceilings!

  3. UGH!! I feel your pain. Maybe not yucky ceiling scraping, but we are in the middle of a remodel and my entire house and everything I own is covered in drywall dust!! Today I was painting (a two-story vaulted room) and my neck is so sore- and I have at least two more coats to go since the color isn't covering well. Blek! Hooray for you finishing the scraping. Maybe it's not a craft, but it sure is a project!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!! I'm off to browse yours some more! :)
