My Scrapbook Philosophy

Since it was my birthday last weekend, I gave myself some time off from dishes and cleaning and sat down to do a few scrapbook pages.  It's probably my longest running hobby, but it's been a little neglected lately.  I don't let myself get stressed out about it though because hobbies are supposed to be fun!

I'm currently working on pictures from around September 2010 (so a little over a year ago--not too bad)  And the way I've always done it is one running album for the whole family.  I work on 8.5 x 11 pages and put them in page protectors in regular 3 ring binders.  When one gets filled up I just keep going in a new one.  When I started scrapbooking 9 years ago, I was pretty sure I wouldn't  be able to keep up a book for each kid (even though then we didn't have any kids yet!)

"This year we have Emily in 1st grade and Meagan is starting preschool.  They are both very excited of course and I'm looking forward to a bit of quiet time in the afternoon while Asher is taking a nap."

The way I figure, I'm doing all this as a record for me, and if any of the kids are dying to have some pictures of their own to keep later on, we can make copies or scan digital versions.

"Meagan was so disappointed when we finished painting the house and it wasn't yellow.  I asked her if she thought it looked like chocolate.  She said "No, brown is like dirt and dirt is gross!"

So, how many other paper-scrapbooks are out there?  Have you switched to digital instead?  Or do all your photos live on your hard drive (I certainly have plenty there too!)
