Make a Splash

Hey everybody!  I hope you enjoyed all the holidays.  I know we did, and I’m betting I’m not the only one looking forward to some routines, normalcy and compulsive organizing and cleaning 🙂

But besides that, the New Year also comes with new ideas.  I’ve had this thought running around in my head, and I hope you’ll think it’s a good idea too and want to help me make it great!

I’m starting a new monthly adventure/series/challenge (not to be confused with a contest/competition/link party) on my blog as a way to showcase some of the amazing talent that exists out there (yes, I mean you!)  I thought it would be fun to pick a Secret Supply every month and have a few bloggers do their own take on it.  Then at the end of the month I’ll do a post sharing all the projects, including mine.

As an example, say I pick “lamp” for January.  Each blogger who is assigned January will have to come up with their own lamp re-do and then they’ll all get posted here.

I don’t want to give anything away, but for some more examples, a future month’s item might be Feathers, or Canvas Drop Cloth.  Or maybe even a set of 3 supplies that have to be used together on the same project!  And don’t worry–I’m a pretty cheap crafter myself, so I won’t be picking anything that’s very expensive to work with.

So, who’s with me?  Does this sound like a fun idea?  I hope so–and maybe it will force you to work with a supply or item that you wouldn’t normally pick.

Each of the monthly projects and bloggers will be put in the new Make a Splash tab that I’ve added to my menu above.  Grab a button from my sidebar for your blog if you want to help spread the word.

I’m hoping to get at least 3 to 5 bloggers to participate each month, though the number’s flexible. If you’re interested, or if you have any questions, please leave me a comment or click on the purple “Contact Me” button on the left side of my blog.  Also, let me know if you have a preference for which month you participate.

A couple of rules that may be useful:

  • You must complete a new project even if you’ve worked with the mystery item before.
  • I would love for you to post your project on your own blog, but ask that you wait until the day that the group post goes up on my blog.

Thank you so much, and I’m excited to get started on our first month’s project, so what are you waiting for?
