Better Mom Day 11: Break Routine Sometimes

If you’re new to the 31 day series, over 1200 bloggers have chosen a theme they want to write about every day in October ranging from food or fashion to faith or fabric.  See the whole list at The Nester.  I decided to focus on trying to be a better mom, and you can see my first post here.

Day 11: Break Routine Sometimes
We have had a fabulously sunny fall in the northwest this year, and it’s been wonderful.  We had a real summer here too!  Knowing that rain is in our forecast in just a couple of days, I picked the girls up from the bus and we went straight to the park to enjoy a last day there–instead of starting on homework and piano practice right away.

I think we all had fun, and this picture I grabbed on my phone would support that.

As important as it is to show my kids the value of routines and getting work done first, I need to recognize that fun can be a priority sometimes too.

I showed you my Halloween entry the other day.  For today’s crafty fun, here’s what I added to my piano:

I found that awesome frame at a local church rummage sale for just $1, and I made the silhouette in Make the Cut by welding a face and a witch hat together 🙂

The haunted house is one I made last year, and I finally got something into that bead frame.  Thanks for checking it out!
