Potted Bulbs

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of iBulb for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I kind of have a bad track record with living plants.  I remember all the way back when I was pregnant with my oldest.  The office where I worked had given me a few gifts, including a flower in a pot that I took home to our tiny apartment, put on a shelf, and then totally forgot I even had it for over 2 weeks.  When I finally remembered to check on it, it was too late.

Then I tried to plant a little vegetable garden in our backyard a few years ago, but I was a little over ambitious and planted a little too early. Then we had an incredibly wet spring and nothing really grew.  I'm still not sure if my poor little seeds drowned, got moldy, or were devoured by slugs. Plus, I discoverd (a little too late) that my "choice spot" really didn't get much sun, especially when leaves appeared on the nearby trees.  Right...trees grow in the spring too.

Perhaps the real problem with all of my previous attempts has been location.  Since remodeling our kitchen last year, we now have a lovely ledge at the sink with our new window and it would be the perfect place to brighten up with some potted bulbs.  And it's a place I stand every day, so in theory I certainly couldn't forget about them.

They're also perfect for Easter gifts or decorations.  I wonder if each of my kids would like their own little plant to take care of (maybe they'd have better luck than I?)  They're always interested in them when we see them at the home store or even grocery store.

Here are some of my favorite ideas from iBulb

  2. I've always wanted to try it but I wonder how long the bulbs will last. Thanks for reminding me as I have a few spare bulbs I can try this with. Abbi
