Halloween Recipes and Games for Kids

Last week we made some Halloween recipes as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias® and shared them with our friends at a Halloween celebration.

#SpookyCelebration | Crafting in the Rain

My preschooler was so excited when I told him we'd be having a Halloween party with some of this friends while his sisters were in school.  We kept it pretty low key with just a few guests and some simple foods and Halloween recipes.

To decorate I made some paper medallions with googly eyes in the center.  Paper clips on the back worked perfectly to hang them from the black gauzy fabric as my background.

Halloween Backdrop | Crafting in the Rain

As everyone was arriving, we made washi tape mummies

The food stayed simple, with lots of kid-friendly items, and they all got Halloween names that were cute, not too gross :) We had Vampire Veggies with dip, Ghoulish Goldfish, Apple slices with Terrifying Twix Dip, Troll Fingers--little wrapped hot dogs, and Bat's Brew.  (Recipes at end of post)

After we ate it was time for some games.  We played the sticky spider web game I created for Brassy Apple and used the bean bags I made for Craftaholics Anonymous.  In each bucket we put a fun size candy...Twix, M&Ms or Snickers. Each guest was able to throw bean bags until they'd won 3 prizes.

I know Asher and I had fun with a bunch of our friends over, and I'd say the party was a success!  If you need some Halloween recipes in the next few days, give these a try!

Caramel Twix Dip | Crafting in the Rain #SpookyCelebration

Twix Dip

1/2 cup brown sugar
6 fun size Twix bars, chopped
Combine cheese and brown sugar.  Chill Twix in the freezer for about an hour for easier chopping.  Add candy to dip right before serving.

Halloween Hawaiian Punch | Crafting in the Rain

Bat's Brew

Small plastic bat rings, washed
Ice cube tray
Fill tray with Hawaiian Punch and set a bat in each one. Freeze overnight.

Combine 6 cups 7up and 3 cups Hawaiian Punch in a large bowl.  Just before serving, remove bat ice cubes and add them to the punch.

  1. These ideas are so cute! I love the Bats in the Ice Cubes, and that Twix Dip looks delicious!
    Just when you thought

  2. I'm dying over that dip. I love Twix alone but that? OMG...I am betting it would be amazing with pretzels, right?

  3. I might have to make that Twix Dip soon!
