Have you decorated your hallways with anything? Our hallway is pretty narrow and I've never really thought about putting anything here.
But that all changed when my Wallternatives Scrabble letters arrived. I met them at SNAP; they're a division of Royal Design Studio. You've probably heard of or used their stencils already. Their new Wallternatives are a range of products including
- WallPrints Fabric Decals (what I used)
- Chalk Talk Chalkboard Art,
- Designer Vinyl Decals,
- WallAppeal Removeable Wallpaper (coming soon) and EtchLook Decals that look like etched glass (coming soon)
Like I said about my hallway, it was pretty bare.
But after applying my Wallternatives I have a wall that really says something! (haha) For placement, I simply found the center of my wall, used a level to get things straight, and measured the distance between letters.
One tip I've got for when you're ready to position the shapes on the wall: Cut a small piece of the backing off of the top, but leave the rest of the backing attached. This way the vinyl will stick to the wall, but you can still pull it off and readjust it if necessary. Then when you have it exactly where you want to you can begin removing the rest of the backing and press the vinyl down against the wall.
Extra bonus: these WallPrints Fabric Decals are removable and reusable!
This was a fabulous way to dress up a neglected wall in our house, but you can see it right when you walk in the front door! What do you think? I'm thinking about putting a few family pictures around the letters too.
