When I was growing up, Country Time Lemonade was a staple. Taco nights, backyard BBQs, it goes with everything! So when the new Lemonade Starters came out I thought it would be fun mix it up a little and use it in a recipe instead of just to drink.

Lemon Pound Cake
(adapted from Allrecipes)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
3 eggs, room temperature
1/8 tsp baking soda
2 Tbs Classic Lemonade Kraft Country Time Lemonade Starter

Cream butter and sugar for 2 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one. Add sour cream and lemonade starter and combine. Whisk flour and baking soda together and mix into the butter sugar mixture. Batter should be fluffy.

Pour into greased, floured bread pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean. (I had to bake mine an extra 5 minutes.)

Let cool 10 minutes in the pan, then remove and cool completely on a cooling rack.

Icing
1/3 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp lemonade starter
2 tsp water

Stir until sugar is dissolved and drizzle on cooled cake.

It pairs great with lemonade mixed up to drink too! Since you just have to add water, it’s easy to make a cup or a whole pitcher, and it’s flavored with real lemon juice.

Find the 3 new flavors, Classic Lemonade, Berry Lemonade and Half Lemonade and Half Iced Tea at Walmart in the drink aisle.

Some stores are hosting taste demos as well, so check your store!

See the lemon plate there? I made it in just a few minutes, and you can too. You just need a plain white plate and some yellow paint.

Start with a yellow curved line, then add 3 yellow triangles. Let the paint dry and you have a bright and cute way to serve your cake.
