Super Heroes Assemble App

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #AvengersUnite #CollectiveBias

Where are my super hero fans? To get you even more excited for the new movie MARVEL's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, there's a fun new app to play with and I'm get to show you some of the great features. Download the Super Heroes Assemble app from iTunes or the Google Play store. You can watch trailers (the movie hits theaters May 1, 2015) and get information on your favorite characters.

Laundry Room Decorating with Vinyl

I'm so excited to be part of VinylPalooza hosted by A Girl and a Glue Gun and sponsored by Expressions Vinyl! (some links may be affiliate)

We may be knee-deep in a whole main floor remodel (hurray our kitchen is all done except for the backsplash!) But because I'm crazy, and I simply can't stay away from crafting, I also did some decorating in my laundry room. I still have other things I'd like to do in there, but let me show you what I've started already.

SoFabU On the Road in Seattle

This grant was  provided to me by Collective Bias, Inc. All opinions are mine alone. #SoFabUOTR #CollectiveBias

If you're following me on Facebook and Instagram (you are following me, right?) Then over the weekend you saw some of the fun pictures I was posting from the SoFabU conference in Seattle. I drove up Friday evening and stayed in the Crown Plaza where the conference was held the next day. Kaysi from Keeping It Simple stayed with me and it was fabulous to finally meet one of my blogging friends that I've known for a long time!

Tulips and Tree Top

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Tree Top, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #TreeTopInc #raisinggoodapples http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

A couple of weeks ago during spring break I took a trip with my kids down to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, OR. In the 6 years that we've lived around here we've never been, so it was definitely time. Look at all the pretty pictures we took!

Love Your Pet with Wholesome Dog Treats

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NudgeThemBack #CollectiveBias

We’re talking pets today! This is our dog Zoey.

I'm going to tell you a little about how she came to us, and why I love the concept of NudgeThemBack.com. (Head over for lots of ways to show your doggie that you care!) She’s a 2 year old Chihuahua mix that we adopted from the Humane Society last October and she’s been a lot of fun. Several weeks earlier we actually brought home a different dog, but only had him for a week—there were many reasons he wasn’t the right dog for our family.

DIY Planet Mobile

I don't know about you, but I love finding ways to use natural materials in craft projects. A while back I had my husband cut a whole bunch of wood discs for me from a tree branch that had to be cut down and I've already used some for wood slice necklaces and ornaments. This is how I took some and made a mobile to represent the solar system.

Supplies needed:
Embroidery hoop
Wood slices (with holes drilled in the tops) about 1/4 inch thick
Paint and brushes

Other than Earth, I didn't try to "label" any of the other planets, but you sure could if you wanted. Mine is a much more abstract solar system than you might find in the gift shop of your local science museum.

Start by painting 9 wood pieces with different colors and patterns. I did a few solid colors, a few with white and colored stripes, and one with blue and green blobs to represent Earth. Let dry and paint the same design on the other sides.

Paint the embroidery hoop too if desired.

Cut different lengths of yarn and tie them onto the hoop and then through the holes in the wood.

Tie to pieces of yarn across the top of the hoop so it can be hung.

Wouldn't this be so fun for a planet party, Earth Day or just hanging in a bedroom?

Our New House!

If you've been following me over on Instagram, this is kind of old news. I've mentioned it in posts here a couple of times too but without detail. We've been in this house a little over 2 months and have already started remodeling this one. But let me back up...

So last summer we started talking about adding on to our old house. The kids are getting older, and all 3 of them were sharing a tiny hall bathroom. I kept thinking it would be pretty nice if we had another bathroom by the time anyone got into high school, or sooner.

Lemon Pound Cake Recipe with Country Time Lemonade Starters

This lemon pound cake recipe and shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PourMoreFun #CollectiveBias

When I was growing up, Country Time Lemonade was a staple. Taco nights, backyard BBQs, it goes with everything! So when the new Lemonade Starters came out I thought it would be fun mix it up a little and use it in a recipe instead of just to drink.

Hello Card at Flamingo Toes

Hop over Flamingo Toes today to see this colorful Hello card.

I made it for Bev's Scrapbusting Challenge. It was the perfect way to use some of my paper scraps that I came across while packing and unpacking in this move. It's really quite easy, and I hope you'll like it!
