Kitchen Makeover Reveal

Our kitchen remodel started back at the very end of March. We had a pretty tight timeline, knowing my sister was getting married in June and the whole family would be visiting our house. Nothing like company coming to keep you motivated on a project, right?

Here's one of the listing photos so you can see the original kitchen. It was all the same color and it seemed so boring. Keep reading to see all the after pictures!

Minion Mix Snack

Who's excited for the new Minions movie? We sure are! In fact, my 6 year old is always quoting "Ba-na-na" at random times. So we're sharing a Minion Mix Snack to celebrate. It would be a great recipe to serve at a Minions party too.

Car Wash Gift for Father's Day

This Father's Day gift idea has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #TheGiftOfClean #CollectiveBias

My kids have a pretty awesome dad. And I'm lucky enough to be married to him! As a special Father's Day treat, we surprised him with an Armor All Care Care Gift Pack and a clean truck!

He always works hard for us, but he's been doing even more the last few months as we bought this house, moved, and have been remodeling. We work on ideas together, and I'm right there with him pounding out tiles or operating the nail gun. But he's the the one who will study things out for days to find just the right way to fix an issue we've run into. Or cash in a vacation day at work just to finish the trickiest parts of the wood floor in the hallway.

Aren't we all cute? The kids and I made this giant card for him to go along with the gift bucket I'd grabbed on one of my trips to Walmart.

The front says "You AUTO know how much we love you," and on the inside we all wrote things we love about him.

I cut out the letters and the car using my CricutYou can do the same, or print out the smaller printable version I have available to download here.

Then, we lucked out with some perfect car-washing weather, and washed his truck for him. We started with the Armor All Quick Silver Wheel & Tire Cleaner. Sprayed it on, let it soak for 5 minutes, then sprayed it off with a strong stream of water.

Next got the whole truck wet and soaped it up using Armor All Ultra Shine Wash & Wax. Then we rinsed and dryed so we wouldn't get water spots. While the tires dryed we worked on the interior. With supplies like the Armor All Cleaning Wipes and Armor All Glass Wipes, the kids were easily able to make it sparkle. The final step was the Armor All Extreme Tire Shine. We sprayed two coats on each tire and just let it air dry. They look brand new, and they're protected!

Don't you just love how the gift goes with the cute card! Who would you give one to? Contents of the bucket are valued at more than $30, but you'll pay less than $20. Plus use this $2 off coupon (while supplies last) for even more savings, and shine up dad's car for Father's Day!

DIY Ombre Highlights Tutorial

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Glad, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #pressnsealhacks http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

How many of you guys color your own hair? I'm not a professional (that's my disclaimer,) but sometimes I like to save a few dollars and just do it myself at home. I have even done my own ombre highlights, and I'm going to show you today how I did it.

BEFORE

You'll need:
Glad Press'n Seal
Highlighter kit (or your other favorite hair bleach)
Wooden skewer (or skinny metal comb handle...but you know how I like to use what  I have on hand!)
Paint brush (or actual hair color brush)
Small piece of sturdy cardboard or thin wood

Grab all your items at Walmart and jump right in. First protect your counter by laying down a couple of long pieces of Glad Press'n Seal. It will stick to the counter and you won't get any bleach spills.

Then cut several pieces of Glad Press'n Seal--tear them with the box, then cut in half with scissors.

Brush your hair so it's free of tangles and combine the contents of your bleach kit.

Grab a small section of hair and use an up-and-down motion with the end of the skewer to weave it through your hair. Separate the top section from the bottom section and lay it on a piece of Glad Press'n Seal with the cardboard behind it.

Load the brush with dye and apply to the hair. Turn the brush vertically and vary the starting point just a little so you don't end up with a harsh horizontal bleach line.

Wrap the Glad Press'n Seal around the hair and move onto another section. I like to alternate sides of my head so one side doesn't end up all lighter than the other.

Let everything set for about 30 minutes, then hair and add conditioner. Style and enjoy your new look. There are tons more uses for Glad Press'n Seal too--just search on Instagram or Twitter for #gladpressnsealhacks for more awesome inspiration. What would you use it for?

I Jumped Out of a Plane-- On Purpose!

It's true. Last weekend my husband and I went skydiving. If you had told me that I would ever volunteer to fall out of a plane, I would have said you were crazy. But look who's the crazy one now.

We have a friend who has a 30 by 30 list and skydiving was on it. With that birthday approaching, he found a place that had a group discount so he was trying to get people to go with him and Steve said he would. Then he spent the day convincing me to go too!
