Halloween Popcorn Box

I’m excited to be joining Laura Kelly in this year’s Halloween Popcorn Box Challenge! Starting with just this popcorn box from World Market, we’ve all added our own twists to turn them something perfect for Halloween treats.

Whether you like traditional, modern, spooky or cute, it’s been used to transform these boxes. (post contains some affiliate links)

how to decorate a popcorn box

Paint the top of the popcorn box black. If you have spray paint, you could just do the whole box.

When the paint is dry, cover the rest of the box with orange vinyl or paper.

Search “witch” in Cricut Design space to find this framed witch silhouette image. Size it to be 2.5 inches wide. (Be sure to “attach” the frame to the head so that the head cuts out inside of the frame instead of next to it)

Cut the frame and witch from black glitter vinyl and apply to the front of the box. Use the “glitter vinyl” custom setting on your Cricut Explore, and use the strong transfer tape that comes with the glitter vinyl.

To make the banner, glue two paper straws inside the box with hot glue.

Glue orange pom pom trim (from Expo International) to the top of each straw and glue on a “Happy Halloween” tag. (Straws and tags came as a set from Michael’s.)

A little black fabric bow sticker is the finishing touch. Or make the bow out of felt!

Wouldn’t this be a great way to share a treat with a neighbor, or to serve popcorn at a spooky movie party!

You’ll also love all the other creative ways that these boxes have been dressed up – go check them out!

A tube of Udderly Smooth hand cream came in our boxes too, and I dressed it up with some scrap fabric and googly eyes!
